Though the church of Christ is the same church Christ promised to build and its commencement is traced to the Bible at Acts the 2nd chapter, The Delta Bay Congregation was started in October 2007 by a group of believers who sought a deeper understanding of how God wants His church to operate.

We are a Bible-based church serving the Delta Bay Area.  We have a vision to expand the borders of God’s kingdom. The vision is two fold.  Firstly, in accordance with God’s direct command, we see the church growing spiritually.  We will help each other do this by connecting relationally in cell groups. The cells groups will emphasize the four values of Jesus; love for God . (Upward), love for one another (Inward), evangelism (Outward), and discipleship (Forward).  Secondly, our aim is to place God’s people in a physical location where the church family can grow. We will seek to include families in all the cities in the Delta Bay Area.

*We currently worship in the multipurpose room at the Prewett Family Park,4701 Lone Tree Way, Antioch, CA  94531  Telephone (925) 776-3090 .

Statement of Beliefs

When you visit us at Delta Bay Church of Christ, you will discover we are an energetic group of believers.  The church is a fast growing relational church which serves a living God.  We plan to grow spiritually, relationally, and numerically. We believe this is God’s plan for His church. Christians only grow in the context of fellowship.  Our aim is to be as committed to one another as we are committed to Christ. Most believers don’t lack commitment, but oftentimes we are overly committed to the wrong things. Jesus had no problem asking people for a great commitment (Luke 14:33). He has committed to us the message of reconciliation (II Cor 5:19). So we ask members to totally commit ourselves to Christ, His Church and His Commission.

A person must obey the Gospel of Jesus Christ. After hearing the Gospel (Rom 10:17) by faith this person must believe (Heb 11:6), repent of past sins (Acts 17:30), Confess Jesus to be Lord (Romans 10:9-10) and be baptized into Christ (Gal 3:27).  This member then declares that he or she understands this congregation’s vision, strategy and structure.  He or she publicly commits himself or herself to God and to the other members ( Rom 12:5).

As a member of this congregation and of the Lord’s church he or she is expected to:

Ø  Mature in Christ (Heb 6:1) This includes being committed to membership, maturity, ministry, and missions.

Ø  Not to forsake the assembly of the saints ( Heb 10:25)

Ø  Live a life worthy of my calling (Eph 4:1)

Ø  Put God before anything and anyone (Lk 14:26)

Ø  Obey & Submit to church leaders (Heb 13:17)

Ø  Develop a strong prayer life (Eph 6:18)

Ø  Love the Lord with all our mind, body, and soul (Matt 12:33,Upward)

Ø  Demonstrate love for others believers, (John 13:34;35, Inward)

Ø  Witness to non-believers (Matt 28:19, Outward)

Ø  Disciple other believers (Matt 28:19, Forward)

Ø  Study my Bible and learn how to apply it. (II Tim 2:15)

Ø  Be faithful and fruitful (John 15:8)

Ø  Give financially as God has blessed me (I Cor 16:2).

Ø  Avoid idle talk and gossip (Prov. 26:20, Eph 4:29)

Ø  Develop intimate relationships with other believers (John 15:12)

In order to promote a greater understanding among members of this congregation, we would like every member to sign a membership covenant or agreement.  This covenant reflects Bible commands and examples to be followed by all believers.  This is not an enforceable covenant. It is between you and God.  It is there to support members in their walk with God. Each member is given a spiritual growth chart, filled out by the member themselves so they could chart their own progress. God expects us not only to be faithful but to be fruitful (John 15: 8)

May God richly bless you!

Minister Lamont A. Francies

Church History

Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The spirit of the Lord is upon us, because he has anointed us to preach good news to the poor. He has sent us to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to release the oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor (Luke 4:18-19).  In October, 2007 the Delta Bay Church of Christ was formed. We began this improbable journey together in search of something better, a better fellowship, a better relationship, and a better walk with the Lord. Our new location is at the Prewett Family Park, on 4701 Lone Tree Way, Antioch, CA  94531, worship time 11A.M. Come out and be a part of history!
